Official Application for the Jace (Meyer) Scherbarth Memorial High School Scholarship

Jace (Meyer) Scherbarth, son of Jeny Meyer & Quinten Scherbarth and grandson of Vaughn & Lois Meyer was taken at a very young age of 14 as a result of an accident. The family has chosen to present two $500 scholarships in loving memory of Jace (Meyer) Scherbarth so his light will continue to shine in our hearts. The scholarship will be awarded to one high school senior boy and one senior girl in South Dakota or Nebraska.

Scholarships to be awarded annually to high school students attending a Vocational Technical School or College in South Dakota or Nebraska.

Available to students who will successfully complete High School. Applicant must be a member of SD Stockgrowers Association or a child of a member. Applicants or parents may join SD Stockgrowers Association at the time of application.

Deadline: June 15, 2025

Scholarship (s) will be awarded and paid at our Annual Convention July 14, 2025 from the SDSGA and Jace (Meyer) Scherbarth Memorial Scholarship fund.

Attach to the official application the following:

1. Copy of your full year grade and course transcript of record

2. Narrative statement explaining: “What I can do to keep agriculture and rural communities thriving” (500 word minimum)

3. Photo - Photo requested – in the event you are awarded a scholarship, photo will be used for publication. (Mail or email photo)
